View Full Version : Vray DR / Backburner issues
When rendering in max with Backburner or Vray's Distributed renderer i get a strange thing,
Backburner:
top half (my pc) 1st node hdr
bottem half (living room pc) 2nd nodehdr

My pc renders the HDR, living room pc doesn't, but the materials do
same for Vray's DR:
*img coming*
anyone who has an idea on how to fix this ?
hmm, i think you cant use it with backburner. works only on a single frame.
maybe the 1.5 version will fix it, but that doesnt work with the other for sure.
manual say : "Rendering an animation sequence in distributed rendering mode is not supported. Use distributed rendering only for single frames."
but maybe its another probleme if you dont rendering an animation.
check your file path. maybe the 2nd PC dont find your hdr map
how can i find out if it can find the desired map ?
I know that it's best for a single frame, and it is a single frame.
It's just split up into 2 work loads.
so its certainly your file path.
"If you have mapped your object with a file named JUNGLEMAP.JPG and you do not have that map in the BITMAPS directories of the MAX SERVER installation - you will get bucket rendered at that machine as if the map was turned off."
go to Utilities -> More -> Bipmat/Photometric Path and check your file path.
hope that help :)
A good practice is to place all your maps into a host computer and then assign them to the materials using \\comp_name\path\file.jpg format. This way the distributed files on different PC will have absolute path and able to load files from the host computer as long as they are on the network.
I'll try to explain further if you are unsure how networking works.

that did it, just renamed some files manually and that worked it out!
Though i've got a new issue, my reflection in my headlights are quite strange.
my left light reflect all well, but my right one just hates me or something.. because it just wont reflect anything (and my left light is an instance of the right one)
anyway on how to correct this ?
