Been working on this for a while. Currently about 15,000 tri. Limit around 50k. Not happy with the front or rear bumpers. They need tweaking. Crit away.
That's a nice looking Audi. Do you know exactly how long you have been working on this model?

You lot spam WAY too much :/
Update. Polycount is a bit higher than I would have liked ( 42,713 tris ), but i'm not to worried about it. Any crits?

Very good work!;) I'm thinking why this is here and not in advanced section!

cos its Game Art. Game Art is for noobs. ;)
The chmafers on the seams seem to be messed up, bad shading on almost every edge, looks nice otherwise.

nice polyflow, but there are some errors around seems and handles
I think he just have aplied torbo or meshsmoth with intensity on 1

Nah. It's cos I apply Smooth modifier with Auto Smooth while I model and always forget to delete it when I get screenshots. It creates nasty gradients around the edges like that if you don't view it at a good angle.

could you post a closer shot to your seam? maybe its issue that you dont have enough edges to create good looking seams
i usually do them using 3 edges very close for one side of seam

I think the smooth problem is because of how the edges looks. When I use bevel in maya I often gets that problems. Look at the attachments.

This is how I've done all of my seams. I make my edge, in this case, the seam between the front and rear door, chamfer that and then select the edges in between and connect them, then move the edge loop out to round out the seam.

I dont know if chamfer is the same thing in maya and 3D studio max but when the edges looks like they do on your car the normals on the flat surface looks twisted. On my new attachment i made one box with beveld edges and one box where i cut the edges manual with edge loop. The edge on the bevel example looks much cleaner but it cause problems on the flat surface.
I don't know a lot about low poly modeling but when wokring with hi poly, my experience tells me that the right exampel works better than the left one.

hey guys...., look how i do it... with "extrude" tool...
every image it's a step...

erm petter, that's nice for high poly but this is low poly.

Modelling is almost finished, just need to do a rear wiper. 55390 tri. C&C please.

Looks good considering you've not got any smoothing groups yet. But I think you need to have more polys in the side windows, you've used plenty for the front and rear windows but the side windows have a curve too. Totaly flat just looks a bit wrong.
It's hard to tell from your images, is the front grill modelled or an alpha'd texture?
I think it would be a more complete piece of work if the interior is modelled. Then you'd be hitting next gen console polygon limits at around 80-90k.
You could possibly take out some of the poly's in the roof, it seems a little dense for a relativly flat area.

Please do the original rims from the RS4 ;p
UnsteadyTeddy

Herminator: I had originally planned to do an interior but its taken longer than I hoped and i've lost all motivation for this now. I'm going to set up some shaders and then call it done. The front grill is modelled. Maybe I should have alpha'd it but there is not real restriction on polycount so I modelled it.
Ravens: Nope. I like these rims and same reason as above ^.

Modelling finished. Working on smoothing and materials now. Smoothing is really sucky. Any tips with those? Materials are basic DX shaders. Going to improve those shortly.
