hey everyone.
Just wanting to get some crit on my model before i start to unwrap it.

the mad max interceptor, im making it fairly low poly but still with details where needed.
Just want some advice!

I dont anderstand what you get with " unwrap" if you can tell me ?

perhaps he means to create uv maps for the severel parst because such a car does mor need a paintad texture because of the rust and holes and dirt and bumps tha a real car paint mat. and to be able to texure it precisly, he need uv maps ;)

it was going to be high poly but i thought i could capture the feel of mad max better by doing a low poly one, if u know what i mean?

just a question if any one knows?

how many maps should i have for this car? i was thinking....

1 for the exterior
1 for the interior
1 for all the junk and stuff / accessories
?

iff its for offline rendering u can use as many u want. with game models i donīt have experiance. sry.

i donīt really think that the mad max look, depends on low or high poly ;)

Very nice and clean modelling for a low poly car. Keep it up the same it looks very great so far.

man! looks like everyone wants this made in high poly!

i'll make a deal, once i finish this one i'll make it in high poly, or cg-cars can ban me! lol :)

ok i have unwrapped the wheels and the body!
i will have:
1 - 2048x2048 map for the body
1 - 1024x1024 map for the interior
1 - 512x512 map for the accessories
1 - 256x256 map for the wheels

heres what i go so far:

it would be nice to see some progress shots here, the modelling is nice.

Those texture sizes you mentioned seem a bit high though (very high if it were to be for a real game)
512x512 for the exterior (including wheels) would be used for many games, sometimes 512x256 (helped by the fact that a car can be mirrored easily down the middle in most cases ;) )
