You have a few bumps here and there and the bumper isn't all that accurate i think, looks nice otherwise
Hi ! There are some new renders (whith wire)
steven4651
03-07-07, 05:13 PM
its nice man! :D
to many bumps so i cant say good :/ work more on this and it will be great :deal:
vic, can you show me where you see bumps on my model?
these are some bumps fast scan with my eyes :) the rest is quite good i think :D
_deus_
04-07-07, 09:30 AM
Yes, man, vic is right... Try to remove triangles on your model
Hi people! There are some progress in my work... :) I tried to fix some bumps, that were found in my model by vic.
man, some parts looks, strange, work on it!!
_deus_
05-07-07, 01:54 PM
Not bad... but still have some troubles with wire
i'm not to sure if that air intakes are suppossed to be so tall. i think the front lip should come up. btw: are you using blu-prints.
nfsc, I'm using blueprint. But this blueprint is not from the Internet, I made this blueprint by myself. I download blueprint of Mazda RX-7 (stock version) from the Internet, and I have many refs (images) of VeilSide Fortune Model. And I made this blueprint in the Photoshop...
try the real one instead they can be found @ smcars.net
Hi people! There are some progress in my work... Now I add glasses to my model
vic, I try to find blueprint of the Fortune in many sites (not only smcars.net), but I coud not find anything that can be good. In many cases people maked this model only by pictures or blueprints that I see where incorrect.
_deus_
07-07-07, 10:56 AM
Some errors... I'm not a big specialist in wire, but i think you must do something like this
Meh, i have done this model belive me! there is great blueprints @ smcars
vic, thanks, I see this blueprints at smcars.net, but they are not correct... I tryed to show some mistakes, that were found by me... In the red ellipse - places in the blueprint that not correct and by the yellow line I try to show how will be done.
There are some progress in my work... I add Lights and Mirrors to my model. Also I try to fix some mistakes in the wire.
man, hope I'm looking at the same car, but you have there some incorrections, chceck this pic, the lights need some work and some parts too...
P2sta, thank you for the picture. This is realy good ref. I will look on it and try to correct my model (Lights). May be I wrong. Can you show other some parts which you think are wrong.
hope it helps and hope it is correct, if not, then let it be ;)
the red one - some bumps ;)
and check the green marked areas, of course :D
Hello! My work on the Fortune has some progress...
P.S. : P2sta, some bumps you show are not bumps. May be it is shadows...
Hello! My work on the Fortune has some progress...
P.S. : P2sta, some bumps you show are not bumps. May be it is shadows...
man, I mean, the green marked areas were unacurrate IMO bump is only the red marked one, but it is only my opinion ;)
My work continue... There are some renders of Andrew EVO-V rims and Rotora brake system.
There are some new renders...

nice car kit...inspired by tokyo drift
very good work but the surface looks irregulate allover...
My work continue... I add engine to my model. The engine is not so detail. Just a basic shape... And I have 2 reasons for this:
1) I have 1 ref with engine of VeilSide's Mazda only
2) My computer has not to many RAM (It is 768 MB only) :)
Next time I add interior and audio system to my model.
P.S. : Sorry for my bad English, but I think you understand me

the car that p2sta hsd shown you was a honda nsx not a mazda:p amyways good model but hate the car and bodykit(not your model I like that)
nice car kit...inspired by tokyo drift
very good work but the surface looks irregulate allover...
the kit was around before tokyo drift
the car that p2sta hsd shown you was a honda nsx not a mazda:p amyways good model but hate the car and bodykit(not your model I like that)
SuperNova221, if you not feel difference between Honda NSX and VeilSide's body kit for Mazda RX-7 - do not post in my thread...
People, please post some critics about my work, not about other themes.
My work on this model has paused. Several days after my work continues... I will work on the interior.
_deus_
27-07-07, 10:13 AM
Tuss4, SuperNova221, i agree with sm@rt... that thread is not about Tokyo Drift. that thread about the car
sm@rt, Any updates?
petter
27-07-07, 02:35 PM
@sm@rt
are you trying to make the same VeilSide kit from TokyoDrift? or it just seems to look like that? coz i feel like it's not the same...
so the question can be reformulated:
are you trying to be as exact as possible to reality(real kit) or the accuracy it's not the main ideea but the artistic aspect...
@ petter
I'm trying to make the same bodykit for Mazda as in the TokyoDrift film. But this bodykit was made before those film. Mazda RX-7 with this bodykit was shown at the Tokyo Motor show 2005. I know, my model is not 100% correct, but I'm trying to make it as real as possible. The engine in the my model is bad. I know... Next time I try to make interior. I have some refs with VeilSide's Mazda interior. I hope interior will more realistic than engine :) .
Sorry for the long pause in my work. I will post new renders some days later...
P.S. : Sorry for my bad English, but I think you understand me.
zcata2008

you're doing great. you are perseverent and i like it - i mean you even did the engine. :p
how many poly's you have so far (smoothed) ?
zambila_catalin, I show you two screenshots from Max's viewport. In this pictures you can see how many polygons are in my model (smoothed and unsmoothed). vbmenu_register("postmenu_61673", true);
Hi people! I'm sorry for the long pause... There are some new renders of unfinished interior. In the future I will add arm-chairs and audio system. I'm working on the audio system now.
Waiting for your comments and critics...

U should check for bumps. I see some on panel and top side of the doors. But it looks interesting carry on :)
man, looks nice, but there is looots of bumps on your model, check this ;)
HithluM
03-08-07, 12:15 PM
Man! If you modeling interior not just for show that it is in the machine, and to show its people, then do this better and give interior of more time!
P2sta, thanks. I will check this bumps later...
There are some progress in my work... Threre are some bumps in the interior, I know. I will fix them later.
nice, man but i think some of the parts need to be moddeled sepparately
TnB, You had what parts in view of?
the whole dashboard,and console[buttons steering wheel,handbrake etc.
they look like its all in one piece
steering wheel, handbrake are separate parts. Other - from one piece.
puafia
06-08-07, 01:35 PM
Your centre console where the gear box and hand brake site are too low.
Check where the gearbox is located in the attachment...its much higher.
puafia, thanks. I will check. May be I wrong...
Hi people! There are some progress in my work. I have corrected some bumps and I has added audio system. Waiting for your comments and critics.
looks good, but there are still some bumps that need to be fixed man ;)
and some unaccurate part, I think, check the puafia's pic
P2sta, can you show bumps in my model. When long I work above model I do not notice mistakes.

10-08-07, 05:25 PM
the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car mate, lol
rodderworld
10-08-07, 05:27 PM
lol dbkenn, not for everyone. (i have to avoid making that comment because it's always my first thought too)
regards,

People, thanks for your comments & opinions, but I still mean you are promise in this critics... Maybe you're know, that in J a p a n cars the steering wheel placed on to right side of car :) If you are don't knew this, just try to go to school ;) :D

10-08-07, 06:29 PM
Sorry I meant to say your work is great. I don't know much about the car but its looking great.
Yea i'm totally aware that in other countries that the wheels are on different sides, and they drive on different sides of the road. I knew that before made that comment.
Again your steering wheel is on the wrong side, lol, :) I am aware what I'm saying mate, lol. :)
Lets play Football - Soccer ball. I'll go first

Hey man, This is a puc of the actual Fortune engine thats in the original Veilside show car. Much the same layout as any single turbo FD. The turbo the used was the HKS T04Z, and intercooler is the HKS Type R V-system. Have alook on the HKS website for better ref pic on the two items.
As far as the rest of the engine layout goes there are many single turbo pics if you do a google image search. Nice build so far.

14-08-07, 12:14 AM
The high res pic is the fortune car still on the stock twin turbos but with the HKS v-system intercooler.
You can buy on of the few versions of the Tokyo Drift RX7s still in japan the go for between £20-£30,000 depening on the spec. If your talking about the Fortune body kit £7,631+ fitting painting etc etc
Levente
14-08-07, 12:20 AM
that looks hard to modell
P2sta, thanks. I try to fix these bumps.
mccarthy and sahil_coo, thanks for the refs. I hope this refs helps me to make this model more real.
Hi people! I add Arm-Chairs to my model. But I think that they are not 100% correct. So comments and critics are wellcome...
yes, you're fight the are not correct, I think you need to check ref.pics from sahil_coo, it is good to see, whats wrong ;)
Oh yes. I check these refs later.
There are some progress in my work...
Two rendrers of almost ready model. Next time I will apply materials and make some test renders. Comments and critics are wellcome.
hey, seats looks better, but still think not 100% accurate, and here are some parts taht need to be checked IMO ;) and I think the car is too low, the wheel are too "in the fender" hope you understand ;)
and the red one, not sure, but think the centre should he move higher, but really not sure about it :p
*edit
the rear can be a bit longer IMO, check the ref pic, the "inteke part, your is too short I think
P2sta, thanks for your critics. I check this parts later.
P2sta, thanks for your critics. I check this parts later.
NP man, I think this it very good work, so olny want to help to make it better and more real ;)
In any case - thanks. Your post very helpfull for me.

Hi there sm@rt,
Your black piece for your break kinda look wierd to me, like it was plastic of some sort (maybe its me i not a car specialist) and the same for the rubber of the tire, when i saw them make me think about my 1/20 ferrari testarossa rubber tire for a model kit.
For overall i like your design.
the_SaM
23-08-07, 10:29 PM
Nice
[email protected] car and model!I am just interested why didn't you model tyres and I think you can add a little bend to the tire;)
Waiting for some more renders!:D:buttrock:
Hi people! There are some progress in my work...
yep man, looks good I think it need still some work on modeling and on materials, but gues it will looks really good ;)
There is my version of the Mazda RX-7 VeilSide Fortune blueprint. I draw it in the Photoshop. Only by refs... This is not 100% accurate. But I think it will help you. Note: feel free to use this bluprint in your works, but if you want to use it in public purposes, please leave my contacts in you work.
P.S. : sorry for my English...
Hello people! There are some new test renders of my model. Next time I will texture interior and make the studio. Waiting for your comments...
hi, looks good, but still need work ;)
i think it looks very nice but as P2sta says it needs some work :)
nice model man, but it is 60% inacurate
look at references, the front is too shor and too high, the headlights are really really wrong, overall the car is too tall
hello;im dont mean to sound "perfectionist" but you really have a problem with proportions[and some parts are too sharp-edges],that beeing solved, you can take care of those bumps[you know where]and one more for the modelling-tyres,just make the transition from the tread to the sidewall smoother, and get a nice bump map for your sidewall[since you dont want to model a tyre its a nice way to get away with;)].
the materials look good, maybe the studio stup can be improved;maybe some outdoor lightning?
but still its very nice[personally i would make new wheels]
КИРО and TnB, thanks for your comments. The air intakes is too high I know. But I make model as is. May be I will correct my blueprint later... vbmenu_register("postmenu_65475", true);
There are some progress in my work... Some new rendrers with textured interior...
CAClark
04-09-07, 04:30 PM
Properions aside, I think the windshield/roof area looks a little odd. Undefined and uneven. Otherwise looking fine!
Cheers!
Thanks for your comments man
doesn't look bad man, keep working, make some nice studio or exterior scene ;)
Hello people! Test rendering continues... There is a small update of texturing interior. The textures in the front panel is bad (Speed, Oil, RPM and others), I know. I remade it as soon as possible. As you can see I'm using the same texture for the audio panels in the front (sorry, I do not know exact word. I think you understand me.) Because I have not good refs with it. I have 1 good ref, but it is the stock version of the RX-7.
Note: I'm not using the studio for the test rendering now. Just 1 VRayLight and the big cylinder (with the OutPut map in the Diffuse channel) around the model. I'm using cylinder just for reflections in the front, back and side of the model. I will create the studio. But I make it after complete making the materials.
Waiting for your comments & critics.
Sorry for my bad English...

As you can see in these refs there are 4 players in this car :)
hey man looks perfect but u need to put some SubDivs on the shadow lights are to noises :D :)
Man, this is the test renders. It is only 8 SubDivs (by Default). I do not like the slow renderings. I will increase the SubDivs some times later...
Hello people! There are some new test renders of a finally textured model. Next time I will create the studio. I hope it will be fine ;)

rodderworld, _deus_ and P2sta. Thanks for your comments.
Hello-
I'm not sure if the circled seam (view pic) is consistent with the horizontal one it connects to... maybe it's just me-- I can't see it too well from this render; it's a bit far away. If it's really all good, nevermind this post.
It looks good, cant wait for the studio render:) , keep up.

Nice dude, maybe u should make a sticker more clear and highres;).
There is a first attempt to create the studio for my Mazda. This studio is not finished. There are a lot of work on it in the future... For example: I want to add some light on the back side of my scene and to make the edges of the studio more softer... I need your comments about the reflections on the body of my model.
P.S.: I want to create a good studio. I hope you can help me.

your car rocks man :buttrock:
i can't belive that others still found something wrong on this one
i like it very much
zambila_catalin, thanks for your comment. But I do not think so... There are too many works in the CG-CARS looks much better than my. But thanks for your comment. May you give my some advices about my studio?
There is a small update of my studio. There are too many noise I know. There is a test render only.
How my studio looks for you now?

There is a small update of my studio....
Hi people! I'm back again... There is new render of my Mazda. Please DO NOT ignore my thread because I really need your advices about my studio...
canmark
02-10-07, 06:19 PM
I'm liking your car but the rendering needs to be a sharper it looks fuzzy now. What are you using for anti-aliasing like catmull r or is it set to area?
Get it sharper and brighter to show more detail and it will look great.
_deus_
02-10-07, 07:40 PM
I think it is to dark, but the reflections are good!!!!
canmark and _deus_! Thanks for your advices.
canmark, these are some settings of the Antialiasing :
Image sampler: Adaptive subdivision
Antialiasing filter: Area, Size = 1.5
I don't know much about these settings. Can you help me?
canmark
03-10-07, 03:16 PM
Here is a link on VRay settings which is very helpful.
http://www.cgarchitect.com/upclose/VI/Week14/Critical_VRay_Settings_Part_I.pdf
I noticed your time for rendering is over 3hours. This is way too long for that quality. It should be more like 10-15 minutes.
canmark thanks for the link.
man render time is relly long for this, I have this problems too, for the render, I think it need more light around and I don't like the blue reflections, but its subjective
People thanks for the advices!
There is the first attempt to set my model to the Environment... This render needs a lot of work. I know. But I want to know your opinion...
_deus_
08-10-07, 10:02 AM
There are something wrong with the glases. Check the refraction...
You have there wrong light, there are "strong" shadows, but under the trees there are soft ;)
petter
11-10-07, 06:16 PM
nice composition, but you need to work more on it
_deus_, P2sta and petter thanks for your comments. There are a lot of work. I have some troubles with the shadow and glasses I know... I will work on it. There were 2 attempts to make new renders but 3dsMax and WinXP crashes... I don't know what caused this trouble... But I try to fix it... I hope some days later will be some new renders.
Next attempt to set Environment... How it looks for you now?
somthing is not right. the front seem too dark. and i cant really see any reflections there aswell. the whole carr needs to reflect more
Small progress: add some reflections of trees...
petter
14-10-07, 08:19 PM
add brightness to the whole image(background and car)
Another attempt to set my Mazda to the Environment...
_deus_
19-10-07, 08:25 PM
There are something wrong with your rims... check the HDR...
hi sm@rt nice work, but need lots of work, check the tyre material too, looks like it is gray, not black and some more light can be added to the pictre like petter said and make some bigger render please ;) good luck
Thanks for your replies! I will work on the tyre material. It looks like there are some dust on tyres now (IMHO). I will make the render with the high resolution as soon as possible. I have a real trouble with the rendering of the rims... I will try to fix it.
Hi mates! I cheched your advices about my render. So new render comes :) The small post work in Photoshop was there... Only small color changes... Hope you like my new render. C&C are wellcome! :)
man, I think it is not bad, but looks a bit strange to me, what about the rims? the material looks strange to me, and lighting of the scene too ;)
This is the original render (without post work). Is the original picture looks better???
Lex(UK)
02-11-07, 06:40 PM
I agree with P2sta. Rims looks like plastic.
NeoLitus
08-11-07, 09:39 PM
yep, rims seems a bit plastic and I think that the reflex over the car it's a bit different from the one that had to have on that environment and with a metallic shader
hey smart... i just checked ur WIP for the first time... i hvnt read all the posts but from what i see in that last render.. i can say there is one problem which is coming out pretty strongly... the alloys and the tyres look like they are made of plastic.... otherwise it looks great.. and the shadows seem to be a bit darker than the ones in the actual picture...
yep, rims seems a bit plastic and I think that the reflex over the car it's a bit different from the one that had to have on that environment and with a metallic shader
Yes the material on the rims is bad. I will work on it. But you not right with the metallic shader :) The almost body of this model covered by plastic. Sorry for my bad English...
angad thanks for your reply. I will work on the shadows and rims material.
I remade the rims material and reflections on the car. Also I change light settings to make the shadows not so dark. Let me know what do you think about my new render.
i liked the new lighting... much better than previous renders... tyres look fine now.. but alloys with chrome material will look better.. black colored alloys arnt lookin good.. i mean they are too dark... no1 wud be able to see any detail on them... hope u understand wat i mean to say...
_deus_
11-11-07, 11:11 AM
Yes, you have good progress
hi, I think it looks better, but it still need lots of work, rims, tyres, reflections, lighting, and rendertime is very long imo ;)
I have returned to studio renders again. This is an attempt to create new studio. There are some test renders without interior and with the low quality. C&C are wellcome! :)
petter
23-11-07, 04:00 PM
looks better, but that glow lighting should be more pronnouced on the background, and less pronnounced on the ground...
keep workin' and focus on one task at a time, stop swithching from studios to other envirnements:)
petter, the switching between studio and environment isn't hard to me :)
petter
23-11-07, 04:22 PM
petter, the switching between studio and environment isn't hard to me :)
then stop switching...:P
I think it is mcuh better then your other renders, maybe it needs to be a bit brighter ;)
Working on studio...
hi, not bad, but i don't like the light "under" the car and still think it needs to be more bright ;)
Following the P2sta's advices :)
petter
26-11-07, 09:28 PM
there shouldn't be 2 different planes... it should be one spot light pointed on the car near a wall, and the edge between the wall and the ground should be round.
agree with petter ;) but it is becomes better
Thanks for your advices. I will work on my renders :)
Hi mates! There are 2 new renders. There were some work with the background. My renders not perfect, I know. But let me know what render you like.
