looks like a decent start. hard to tell much yet and the pic is unclear. you might be wasting some polies but i'm no expert on low-poly.

you seem to be in a rush about everything;) status, improvements, renders. it's counterproductive, if your model isn't good there's only so much a render can do. slow down, it's worth it.

There is the progress, but very low rated poly work.
I dont know how u will take it.....
Total work time 8 hours. Now working on material n lighting.
Its ma first model in cg-car forum. Next i will work for some high poly cars.

Yap:D :D :D exactly
But the rim and tire is detail with turbosmooth

don't waste your time on materials and renders, a lowpoly body that just has meshsmoothed slapped on isn't going to look nice, regardless. either render it in lowpoly or fix the n-gons and tris. not the greatest render in the world can hide weird surfaces.

Is there any high poly car model made by u???;)
Just asking. Don't take it otherways

i'm making one right now, as you may have noticed, i'm taking my time. i've also made a bunch of motorcycles (some of which were posted on this site). look at any of them, you'll see that effort was made to use quads. i know you want to render but if that's the case, find a free model to download and use it. you're only setting yourself up for hardship if you render this model. i'm trying not to take offense but i'm amused at your reaction.

Hey man, am in low poly section now. The thread is under low poly. If my model is not good, then tell that. I will stop it. I told u before that next a will make some high poly model

my point is that you applied meshsmooth to it. at that point you're not modelling in low-poly. if you took of meshmooth i wouldn't be making this point.

My mistake:d I didnt use meshsmooth.
Its a smoothing tool used from poly modifier called -use NURMS subdivition.
U can see my polygons those are real, not created my mesh smooth
See without smoothness(except tire n rim)
rodderworld

nurms subdivision is meshsmooth.

yea, its basically the same thing...
before you render you should really focus on getting a solid model. Because like the other guys said, without a solid model, your renders wont look very good anyway. Does max have any kind of poly cleanup option where it can highlight the bad areas of your mesh like Maya does? If so, run that and fix those errors. That will help, even if a little bit, your rendering ventures ;)

@slice: max has stl check which is occasionaly used. it marks tris and stuff like that but it also wants all the surfaces to be closed so it isn't the world's greatest tool.

Thanx for ur comments;)
Can u give me some hints about improve the model?

i think your main issue is meshflow. your wire doesn't flow from one end of the car to the other as you'ld expect your reflections to. you have plenty of tris and n-gons. if you are going to continue using nurms on it, that has to be taken care of. otherwise, i'ld like to see how it looks with a clay material and smooth modifier.

My last upload was withous smoothness. U can see the difference if u saw both 2 render
rodderworld
02-09-07, 09:30 PM
yes, i know. my point is that it's hard to see because what i assume is car paint doesn't show anything until it's rendered. the subtleties of the car are lost.

I will post a render soon

I attached some areas you will want to fix. Try to make your mesh flow more, and add splits in areas that would benefit from those additions, like corners of headlights etc. Areas that are generally flat dont need nearly as many splits. Hope this helps....
Post an update when you get a chance to work on it a little bit!

Here is my last update. Render with mesh smooth(otherwise it looks ugly)
Fell free to comment. I will work more for arrange more poly. Its just for test

if you're going to apply meshsmooth, you have to add some sharpness to your seams. the render is an ok start but there's too mush light shining on the side so it looks washed out.
