Realistic Rendering
Before i say anything else i want you too know im a semi noob at rendering...
Im working with a Chrysler 300 atm wich was made by Dosch and i decided too remodel alot of the parts in addition too adding objects too the car, im doing this purely for training purposes and this car wont be realeased in any way since it is a Dosch Design model base, ( didnt look like a 300 thou :P) I got some trouble making my HDRI work the way i want it too, but that another chapter, i was wondering if anyone here is doing their render in Vray? I was hoping Vray had something similar too Brazil`s CSG Server wich allows u too kinda place the car in an 3d environment created by a simple bitmap picture in the env slot , or if there are anyone that know another way too cheat my way into a realistic render with a real background? Thnx Thomas |

That might be a good tutorial to look over if you're using Brazil in 3D Max. It's what I used to learn how to create and use HDRI environments. Pretty helpful tutorial there.

Well , you don't really need HDRIs to make good looking renders , i made this pictures with only a Low Dynamic Range picture (JPG) and nothing else ..
But if you are going to use a hdri , simply putting it into the environment slot will not get you the results you won't (unless it's a coincedence ) , first you have to adjust the HDRI position inside 3dsMax so the Reflections on the car would match the background , i don't like hdris myself and i'd rather use normal JPEGs , it's up to you to choose . |

its not about hdri , ok hehe look guys, i dont think i have been explaining this very good apparently, its not about hdri or brazil, its simply about how i might get a csg server effect with Vray on a normal picture background, the keyword here is similar shading like the Brazil engine produces..

I still dont get what you mean by "csg server" csg means "constructive solid geometry" wich has nothing to do with rendering...you got me confused there.

LOL! like i said i was a semi noob, u know the way u can place an object onto a jpg (whatever) in the enviroment slot and it will be embroided into the environment as if it was a real picture ..
