Been finishing the details on the rear of thr Capri. Added the legendary Ducktail Spoiler - it might look a bit excessive, but that is what the engineers requested so that it could be homologated to help keep the tail tied down at race speeds as it chewed up the BMWs in the Touring Car Championships (Excuse the fact that I only have wheels on the left side )

If it chewed up BMWs then why did Ford use the M color scheme

yea, really great work!! ...only the ducktail looks more like an airbrake than a spoiler :banghead: u can slow down a boing 747 with it ...and this really was a demand from ford? ...

    keep it rollin!

    Hi Guys ...

alansc : Well the tyres were modelled from real tyres and are to scale ... they are meant to be realistic - I can show a more detailed pic so you can see ..

S.O.A.D. : Yes, that is a much later MKIII Capri racer - which were in fact just silhouette racers - not much Capri under that skin ! The colours will just be from the sponsors.

The bad boy I am modelling was converted into this Race Beastie :

Note the large tail spoiler !

And if anyone is interested here is a small movie of it, unfortunately getting pussied along a back road, but you can still hear that lovely quad-cam hairy-chested V6 growl. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck tingle.

    MOVIE : Capri RS3100 Racer 3.4Mb

    I have a MK1 Capri tucked away,

    (OLD photo from 1987)

just been talking with a few people in the trade about installing something similar to the GAA (2.9 Cosworth 24v V6 with a Jenvey throttle body kit) - but at a far more reasonable cost. A GAA Engine (if you can even find one !) starts at £20,000/~30,000 Euro/~35,000$.

haha, ...this spoiler makes me laugh :buttrock: i think it costs more speed than its giving the car contact pressure

nice pics though! will look at the mov later on.

I'm in contact with many owners of these cars and they have been asking me for the original Capri RS3100 RS alloys - so ... rolled up the sleeves and created a set. I'll keep the nice large rims on for most of my renders but just to show you :

    Thanks Guys ..

I've been a little busy with other things but made a new set of BBS GT Rims tonight (writing a tutorial to show how I did them here) and put them on the Capri - perhaps a little excessive ... but ... not bad

SeSim : That would be cool to see.
