    Hi,

Having a bit of trouble lining stuff up, I've followed the tutorial to the letter and have the material layers right and mapped correctly. But it seems that the texture are totally not lining up, esply the side walls

    Some thoughts ? (help)

    Thanks

    See screeshot below:

Great tutorial. Answered some questions I'd had for a long time.

One quicky though: When doing a "long single texture", instead of a small tillable one, would you just tile the various base images? (essentially making one long image of tiled layers) Or stretch/scale the layers to fit the texture size? Or what would you recommend to someone who might try a single long texture?

My 1st go at a texture using the tutorial. (attached) Going for kinda a dirty off-road kinda tire. (didn't come out the greatest)

Silver Bullet: It looks like your texture got rotated 90° or something (for the tread at least). Might want to play with the angling of those mapping modifiers.

@u238: 211 hasn't been seen in ages so i don't know if you can count on an answer. i understand you're going for a well-used look but i think the centre might be overly brown-looking.

    regards,

Well, I kinda aimed that as a general question so anybody could answer it.

Yea, I noticed this shortly after posting it. I've since tweaked at lightened it up some. (see attached)

not sure about the photoshop terminology so bear with me. it's better but i think you made it too light in the process. it should be a bit grayer as well as darker imo. right now it's a bit too light for rubber.

    regards,

The texture is light but it comes out darker in the render. (see attached.) Being it's worn I would think it would be a much lighter color grey than if it were brand new/slightly used.
