    Noob quests about ST

Hey guys, im a noob in ST, so i will ask very stupid quests sometimes, so please, don't be mad on me, thanks for cooperation

So, the first quest: How to move the point along ONE axis? I cannot find any handle to move(like for objects there's a handle to move along three axises), even in help i cannot find... :banghead:

Second: How to put in the coords for object(ABS)? As to say, if the sphere in "1 0 0", and i want to move it to "1 3 0" in Maya i just put dots ". 3 ." and it left "dottet" coords without changes

    Please, help me someone :scream:

On the perspective viewport, each mouse button moves an object at a specific axis. E.g. LMB for X, MMB for Y, RMB for Z.

When you are on other plan views, the LMB will move it X and Y direction of the viewport while MMB for X and RMB for Y.

For precise movement (numerical input), I haven't explored that in ST so I hope others might be able to give some insight.

im not exactly sure what you ment with your 2ndquestion.

I think what you need to do is type in 0,1,0 into the console to move it, rotate or resize. Hope that makes sense

I'm not trying to piss anyone off, seems that you're trying to piss everyone here on the forum with your so "clever", and especially "polite" way. Don't try to teach me how to live.
I didn't see from you any poly on this forum, and you trying to teach me to turn on the computer. Don't you think that it's at least strange? Not?

The forum, i think is for ask quests and to get answers, if you don't want to answer just keep silent, and let other to help me. Don't flood the forum, please.

no, a bit wrong. It's ABS coords, so if i type 0 1 0 it will go exactly to 0 1 0, not add 1 to y axis and keep others witout changes, that's the point.

mechatronz... Is your comments necessary? I assume you are pissed from other tread dicussion on 5/4 poly faces or others. If so, that doesn't give you right to bring into Vesily's thread. Like Dave3d.. create your own thread if you want to discuss your matter.

Hey guys, here's come another question, that i cannot figure out. I also cannot download the video of Gnomon... arh, dont mind.

I cannot figure out how to add point into the curve(not add to an end or beginning of it), between two CVs. Like in Maya you can choose a point on curve and make "Edit Curves -> Insert CV". How to make the same ST?

    thanks in advance

the "insert" tool exists in AST too...
actually it's a generic tool to insert CV or isoparms respectively on curves or surfaces....
    see attached pic....

If you dont mind me asking a question in your thread... Is there a command to "trim" lines with other lines, similar to Rhino?

seems i have another question... I'll try to explain.

First i did a nsided surface from 3 curves, then, i did a square surface... The problem is that i cannot attach them to each other. Look at the attached pic. The first is "Attach Tool", and in the marking menu no nsided surface. The second part is "Pick Object Tool" and in the marking menu present "nsided" object.

THe question is: Can i attach an nsided surface to square surface, and what do i need to do to make it? :deal:

    btw, Raine, i don't mind

why do you want to attach theses two surfaces together ? In AST there is no Rhino "join" command. if you want to align the surface on the other (in order to be sure that the edge between the two surface is nice (position, tangent, or curvature), use the Align tool (the icon just under the Attach one..)

btw, there is no "join" tool, but when your part is finished, you have to create a shell to "attach" the set of surfaces together.

    ok, thank you.

That two surfaces are "attachable"(both have edge on one curve), if they will be just usual surfaces, not nsided. I figured out on different surface creating that nsided surface is just a trimmed surface, so it's edge is "somewhere beyond", and it cannot be attached with "attach tool".

btw, i dont know rhino(never even launched it )

    Anyway, thanks for answering.

Maybe i will open a WIP, and there i will ask questions more "specialized on the problem"...
