Don't want to start a new thread for this ... but I've been fine tweaking this for a Poster I am creating and thought it turned out quite nice

Yasick : I use Mental Ray.

And the shadows are a little bit of a cheat. Due to the fact that smooth shadows in Mental Ray using FG (and don't make your car look like it is floating) take A LLOOOOOONG time to render at high resolutions.

I use a version of this method outlined by Sefs :

    http://cg-cars.com/forum/showthread.php?t=322

but that is the basis of my shadows (the ones on the "ground plane" anyway).

For example the above pic took about 8 minutes to render with my setup.

    very beautiful!

I think that the car paint is too reflective..

about the headlights, do you flip the back face of the glass out? here I got some problems with this, qhat is the method that you use? Shell and then detach tha back face?

    bye

You should see my real cars ... and see how reflective those are

Headlights ... I started a little tutorial about them here :

    http://cg-cars.com/forum/showthread.php?t=390

    Need to finish it.
