Long time no see.
All those green, blue line's,
It's hard to control them,
It's hard to master them.
Seems like it's no deal for u, a TT concept here, a Clio RS there another one overthere.
You'r my god, you'r the god.
Forgive us for being so noob, Forgive us for being slow-learning, Forgive me that i didnt prayed last week.
the mini tutorial (concerning facets in lights parabolas) is in progress, and will be finished tomorrow (only !) cos i'm improving the technic while doing it
i think the problem is that most people only look at glossy renders and this one concentrates on modeling first.
cant wait until modelling is finished and we have the first testrenders here.
but for modelling its at a minimum 5 stars. a shame that there is not the chance to give u 10 for your work rain :buttrock:
hey dude, how bout filletting the mirrors? :scream:
I've downloaded a few PDF's on AST, one of which is about technical surfacing.
I understand it's about the surface engineers job: starting from reference data (in that case X-sections), it goes into the process of building G2 surface set close enough to the original data to be unable to see any gap.
I'm learning that it's all about the CV's... two curves, two surfaces... G2, or G3 continuity can fail because of a spoiled CV that misbehaves ever so slightly!
What the hell..
But finally surface modelling is a little less obscure to me!
I'm surelly not at your level tho :buttrock:

MAXX, if you give a closer look at the thread, you will see a link to a tutorial that Rain Knight has made to illustrate the way he built the faceted mirrors.

well as for the reflector now it's clear=)
But I've got another question. The Rain Knight could you explain how to make the connection between surfaces 1 and 2 with G2 continuity? Or please show those surfaces in original view without trimming.
