Man, I can't believe this is over it's been 2 years since you started this project. Insane! Love you renders and can't wait to see the final image.
Tks dude, tks for your support too. I'm finally moving to another car =)

Hey X tks for stopping by, those edge softness and vignettes are part of a very cool nuke and after effects plugin, As interior cameras are never stiff, I think they are a good choice to emulate real camera movement. When filming racing you have all kind of noise blur and distortion. Maybe it was too much, here is a better aproach =)

Tks dude, I'm already done with it, the bump in the steering wheel got better though

Tks my friend for all your support and critique, See you all next project!
I think the pose on the driver isn't strong enough, it seems like he's just standing there with no real feeling( Something missing emotion wise). Then after looking back at this pose comparison: http://cg-cars.com/attachment.ph...4&d=1304958270 the ref pic has the driver's chest very out. He's breathing in very deeply as to later let out a loud Noooooooooooooooooo!
This is missing on you model, it's the anticipation of the pose really.
Thank you very much for the comments guys, Tks Nas, I think the pose read perfectly well, maye is the camera what makes a difference between mine and the reference. Anticipation or any other animation principle doesn't apply when your model is not rigged and animated, which is the case.
When that happens you just need to fix the curves of your locators and controls in the graph editor, but I got your point. So maybe it can be improved with a little bit of exageration? As I said before, it could be packed with flaws, but is done.
Thank you very much for following this thread for decades =)
The truth of the matter is that you can be working on this same project for
another 20 years, and someone (at least one person, guaranteed) is going to
say that such and such is off and needs to be fixed. Sometimes our expectations
and/or others aren't always met, but that's something that must be accepted in the
world of art in general.
Yeah, you've worked extremely diligent on this, Luis..fantastic work!
Needless to say, the minor errors, mistakes, etc. will certainly better your
eye of attention and craftsmanship skill for future works.
Are you still working on that airplane turbine jet engine you displayed
a while back?
Looking forward to the next machine

But what really got my goat (Hopefully it isn't any of you on here...) was this tool:
Not to shit on the guy's work, because he's done a great job: His lighting/texturing/shaders and field-of-view are all spot on... BUUUUT, most of that work is in the overall presentation of the video. The model itself isn't that spectacular. Especially in the engine bay and interior. Once again, by no means bad- it's at least consistent, just not as awesome as the competition.
$kaycog: I realise you've got a little extra enthusiasm due to the specific model
And Matt: Based on just this rendering along, this guy would have to do A LOT better to go work at Polyphony. That said, he may not be interested in gaming anyway. Polygonal restraints in real-time 3D (gaming and the like) create a whole other aspect to creating an accurate, realistic model. Different kettle of fish.
Have a browse through here at some of the renders some of these guys have submitted of cars (you'll have to flick through a few pages as it's mostly not cars). There's some pretty average ones in there, but on the flip side, others are spectacular...
Thanks for sharing darkstryder360, you will always have controversial opinions when you expose your work. some negative, some others positive. The editor in chief of the Magazine actually wrote this:
Matt Hardigree @2xwishbonz - Juicy Fruit - #42
We've told that story many times in many ways. Gearheards are gearheads and this guy was enough of an enthusiast to make a lovingly detailed model of one and I'm going to feature it. When you do something as great we'll maybe feature that, too. But if every post has to meet the rigid standards of exactly what you want you're going to be pretty bummed later on. Jalopnik is all about automotive pluralism and not being the automotive taliban.
Your critique of the site is that, rather than doing the same story we've done before, we did a different one you didn't like? And we shouldn't do any new types of stories?
Oh boy!that's a nice shot.
I hope you don't mind,i would like to see this topdown shot alone.
But it's great again.i wouldn't have expectet something other.
Greetings.
Tks a lot DarkHorse, we can't agree more
I will be starting another thread for sure it's about time ha?
There are some things I can share, I'll give you a PM cheers
