    problem with 3ds max shading

    Ok I have problem with shading in 3dsmax 2010 or I think I have :banghead:....and it is that triangle look when I turn off the meshsmooth modifier .
    Mesh is Editable poly

    You have to assign smoothing groups. Easiest tho not failproof is add a smooth modifier and set it to autosmooth.

    Thx but I wose solve the problem:
    I wose exported the unsmooth wire in OBJ , Delete org, then inport the OBJ and converted Editable mesh to editable poly now wire look ok again
    .....

    IMO, I think editable poly didn't show the triangle(face), but editable mesh did
    correct if I'm wrong

    I am dealing with a similar issue, check this: http://forum.cg-cars.com/showthread.php?t=6868
    Its probably a bug in max, I found a way to fix it ! Just delete the poly with the problem and bridge the sides again, but I wouldn't bother because its gone once you smooth the mesh.
