    BMW 7-Series F01

    Hi everyone,

after the blueprints for the 7-series have been published, I immediately wanted to model it. The launch took a while but now are set to go.

This is my first official project on which I will work here. Previously, I have a few other cars modeled etc.

hi, welcome to cg-cars. looks like a decent start. hopefully you have conceptualized the surfaces instead of just tracing the blueprints. good luck modeling.

    regards,

I have the 5series GT also been modeled. It was mid-May. But I did let it stand, and now is this for me a FWIP
Sorry about that but we have just the same interests

The modeling of Frontbumper are in working. An update is coming soon...

looks pretty good but you need to even out your polies on the hood imo.

    So here I am again.
The rear of the f01 made me mad a lot of time away. At first I started wrong and had to correct a lot. Ultimately, I have done so little

The rims I have designed myself

PS: I want to change my user name! How can i do that?

    Great model
The mesh looks quite dense on the front bumper, but I dont really know much about that stuff...
You need to come up with a nice way of washing out fillets, because it looks a bit nasty to have the sharp fillets just get fat and disappear at their ends...

    Cheers

I agree with Tyreswing, but I also believe there is some waviness on your hood, barely noticeable but it's there.

You are progressing nicely! To me, the mesh looks ok, but there are splines that you need to space out more evnely.

@ Tyreswing: About the chamfering/fillets, are you sure that isn't just the design of the car? Around the front bumper area? Maybe you can point these out with circles, I'm qurious as to what you're refering to.

    wich area mean you?

I have difficulties to understand what you mean at the moment
Do not forget that my English is not very good Google is my friend

And yes the Hood has a bit waviness but the reason for that is that i dont finished the hood. My goal there was only once that the chassis is complete. Now I come to the details.

For the fillets, I mean that on your car it is noticeable that the sharp edges become "blunt" at the ends.
I mean, the sharp edge gets a bigger radius towards the end. It does not look as crisp and clean.
Look at the attached pics of the BMW, and you can see that the sharp edges stay very sharp until the surfaces around them curve so that the sharp line is washed out. Thats a general BMW thing, and I think it applies to most of their cars.

You certainly are right, but I have nowhere proclaimed that I had already finished!?

    I previously wrote ...

I work more than 2 years only on BMW cars. previously i modelled an M6 e63 (that was my first and with whom I have learned 3ds max), than the M3 e92 and a few months ago threw the 5series GT

take a look to this pictures that i've uploaded previously...

you can replace "knowing issues" with "unfixed fillets"

Easy tiger... I was just pointing out those areas.
I obviously read "knowing issues" and I know you arent finished, but I assumed that by posting online you wanted some comments/criticism

    I'm easy
...criticism must always be. But you have to admit that you were a little premature

I'm working straight on the side of the car. keep ready for an update soon.

    LITTLE UPDATE

i've worked on the side of the car, fixed two fillets and cuted the doors and windows
