Hi, I am currently working on the interior of a car but not sure how I can achieve realistic gear-stick leather with organic folds, such as below:
Ideas?
Whilst on the subject of interiors, there are a lot of tutorials on the internet about modelling cars but they always focus on the exterior, which I find trivial. The interiors aren't too hard either but it would be great to see how other people do it so I can pick up a few tips and tricks and speed up my work, currently it's progressing quite slow. Are there any tutorials out there which include a detailed interior?
and where ara you going to model it?? 3ds max, rhino, poly or nurbs??
I think he has answered this question twice.
Once by posting in the 3DS Max application specific forum and second by have 3ds Max as he default software.

The responses you got on smcars were pretty good.
You can either use a cloth modifier or start with a plane and just keep cutting. I would then unwrap it and texture it using a leather bump map off of this tutorial >click me<
