    Environment Scenes for Animations

    Hello,
does someone know where to get good environmental scenes for animations? What I have in my mind is a tunnel or garage scene with a "darker" atmosphere and a natural environment with a street.... do I have to create it myself (e.g. with Vue?) or are there any downloadable scenes somewhere?

Thank You very much for your help.

I am sure there are "ready" scene somewhere around, you probably would have to google for it. Some may be charged, some may be free.
But why not create one of your own instead wasting time and money. Not only that, you could also have better control on how your scene should be organized. Perhaps, you 'd be proud at the end.

    Hope this tips helped you.

    Hello EquiNOX,
thank you for you answer. I've been searching the web for two day and have only found interior scenes. That's why you actually said what I was doing right at the moment - starting to model one of my own.... my problem is that I am a beginner and don't really know what kind of software I'm supposed to use - I'm currently working with Autodesk Alias, but have also 3ds Max as well as Vue at disposal.... is there any helpful tutorial for automotive animation around that explains the process step by step?

    Thank you!

    Exactly! well said Dave.

    a5arth,
please... take your time and enjoy reading This

I completely understand what you want, I can understand you wanted to have everything done at once, without going through step-by-step procedures.. As matter of fact, we all beginners did! .. but unfortunately, we can't just know everything at once... unless you're inhuman-robot beings.
As I mentioned before (from other link) It doesn't matter which program/software you are using to model anything. As long the software you re using float your boat. I can only suggest you to try to start learning 3ds max or Maya. I am not saying I am in favor for both them, but telling you it would be my best choice because there are LOT of free tutorial on Max and Maya and that you could take advantage of it.

So take your time learn everything you need to know before you can start off building things

    Hope that helps

i dont agree, its time wasting if your time is restricted and you need to make something in time
but on otheer hand its good to have own scene... and know how to do modelling right
i understand your 4 steps and i personally am trying to follow them but sometimees you are pushed by circumstances to find or buy scene (HDRI)

Hey, thanks for your answers again.

I totally agree with what both of you, EquiNOX and Domino, said: unfortunately, time is restricted since it is a school project.

I have found many valuable HDRIs that correspond to what I am looking for. But isn't it impossible to create animations with HDRIs? Aren't they only for still renderings? How am I supposed to drive around within an HDRI?

    Thank you!
