Okay, time to show something i worked on when i got time past month!!
First of all i want to send a big thanks to salim for helping me out a lot with making blueprints out of foto's. Thanks man.
So my new project is the v12 vantage, one of the most beautiful aston martins there is. First of all; the reason that i didn't go further with the veyron (For now, maybe i'll continue it in the future) is that since i started the veyron i've developed some new technics to make the body smoother. And whenever i look at the veyron now i see so many points that can be better i lost motivation for it now.
So in this aston i will put my latest tricks and so on to make it as smooth as possible! I created a print out of pictures, thanks to salim, wich is around 90-95% accurate. Keep in mind that it's my first ever so there's room for improvement, but anyway it's a lot more accurate than all prints on the net. Furthermore i already did some work when i didn't feel like working on the blueprint.
oh and don't mind the crappy seat textures, they'll be fixed!
Hello Erik, you have the same name as my brother. As always when looking at your models, my chin fells down between my legs. Your clean and accurate shapes are blazing amazing. I wish you best luck with this model, and hope you will feel inspired until finishing it. It sure inspires me, and I learned a lot about making sharp edges and seams by looking at your model of the Lamborghini Reventón.
I have a question for you, if it is okay if I "hijack" your thread a little. How do you make those seams on the seat? Is that a tiled texture curved around the mesh, or is it modeled?
Oh, and is it possible to buy one of those chairs to have by the TV?
sexy seats man, those seams must have taken a while =p, btw could you explain how you got that camera match/spline caging done? (I'll give you a cyber cookie, or some other delicacy in the form of binary =D)
But i can somehow understand you... with every project you improve yourself and loose the motivation easily. today when im looking my F10 i think damn so much mistakes.. but its also a good thing cuz then you know that you improved your skills and dont got caught therefore i think my MSC will be kickass believe me
i also would like to know how these cam match spline cage technique works. how you've done the stitches?
Hey Erik, well, brilliant choice of the car. I actually don't like Veyron,so it is nice to see you working on something more interesting. I will give you a task, make me a new desktop wallpaper Why did you start with seats as one of the first parts? Looks great. And show some unsmoothed wires

hehe, i see you opened lot of questians for us! Great choice, even better start (or this time you start from end? )... I think I will dream some Astons now...
I hate mozilla, just wrote a whole explenation about the whole stitches and cameramatching stuff and it just crashes :S 20 minutes of work gone... So here is a short summary cuz i aint gonna redo all of it now, maybe later.
About the stitches: It isn't very hard and it took me around 30 minutes tops. When i finished the shape of the seat i just created paths out of the model and used a align tool to align the stitches to the path.
About the cameramatching: Thats a real B*tch. There are some tutorials online helping with this, but they are mostly of buildings so they aren't really usefull. So what i did was to first find a picture where you can get enough information out. Then i created a lot of perspective lines in photoshop to help me in 3ds max. Then i tried the tool over and over again till i got something good, and i created 2 lines, wich later on i matched again to make it more accurate and ccreate more camera's. Takes a lot of improvisation and patience
@Duron: well i have a new approach and tricks to keep me longer motivated for this one
@adovz: well between the fooling around with the cameramatching stuff, i wanted to model some stuff too. so i modelled some stuff i knew i wouldn't like to model later, and gave me a headstart when i finally finished the bp. The seats was a simple choice because i liked to experiment with stitches. And well rims are always cool to model I also wanted to try to model the back of it so it would give a better feeling
So here are some wires, of the seats there are 2 wires, one of the base i used, and one of the final
