    TT Roadster

Ok, well, this is a project I have wanted to do for a long time. Only done 1 car before in 3d, and that was low poly. This is going to be much more accurate and nice meshsmoothing.

The main reason for choosing the tt roadster is that I have one, so references should not be a problem. I am undecided whether to kit it out like a car from Need For Speed or not....I will decide later in the project I think.

I am going to take my own HDRI photo for this with an intention of producing a high quality advert style image to finish with. One that can be printed as a poster perhaps.

The project's just a bit of fun due to the fact I am in between jobs for 2 weeks.

Sorry to bore you all with a TT project, but it seemed nice to do. Especially, since there are'nt too many roadsters.

    Thanks

    Tom

But it's only your second car in 3d, and you post in advanced ? sorry if I don't understand, but explain me please...

omg, you seems to have a lot of errors in your wire...
Could you post one unsmoothed please

edit : I just see your low poly model it rocks !! So maybe I'm wrong when I'm saying that you are not in the good section...But for now the wire seems bad to me

Thanks....The panel behind the front wheel arch needs some tidying up. What I've done is trace the blueprints with splines. Built an editable poly.....really low geometric resolution, applied 1 meshsmooth iliteration and then converted back to an editable poly. This is going to give me more control on shape....but requires a bit of tweaking Going to get back to work..... I'll post an update in a bit once the mesh had a bit of tlc.

That's an interresting method...Never think about it...seems a little bit strange for me, but it looks that you managed it good...
I wish you good luck with this project !

Ok, started to chamfer edges now...the model is still divided into smoothing groups with the meshsmooth. (I just did that with the mesh to visualise the car better)

Ok, the chamfering's really starting to define the shape. I've just put on a simple reflection map to see if any panels are wonkey. I can see why lots of people model this car... it comes together nicely, in terms of panels and edges.

Champering round the back of the car now. Almost finished the basic detail now....just a few tweaks here and there.

Done the front windscreen and dorr handle, plus the start of the interior. Most of the champering is finished now, still got to do the front number plate area. There is a flat bit that cuts into the bumper ever so slightly.

Been working on the rims and brakes today...

Decided I wanted to put some sportec alloys on it. They suit the car really well yet look really oem too.
