    MV Agusta Tamburini (f4 1000)

    Greetings,

Here's what it looks like when it's done:

Ok... The way I started modeling this is:

Using the front and side pictures (only ones available) + hundreds of ref pictures, I made some nurbs curves over the lines of interest in the model.[see first picture in attachments]

Then I start laying out poly's while I let the nurbs curbes guide me through the overall shape of the model, sometimes I even snap the vertices onto the curves. Very helpful for me.[see second and third picture in attachments]

What you see here, is the result of about 10-12 hours of effective work, not including tries, cursing, steps repeated, and so on, spanning on more than one year.

The reason for posting this is that I need a topic to finish this project forcibly because of you guys. Please.

    Please criticize.
    Thanks.

Some updates on the fairing. I have to work more on the way the edges flow and see how can I redistribute the detail. I am not quite happy with the way the detail is condensed.

In green, you can see the wires I do before I start modeling. Very helpful, they are. See the dark path you shall.

Hate to remind you, but suggestions are very welcomed.

    Happy Holidays!

    Need help.

I'm done so far with the front fairing but I got stuck. I ended up with some triangles and I do not know how to get rid of them while maintaining the lines I used to make the flow of the mesh.

I selected the triangles in the attached screenshots.

Thanks a bunch guys for ignoring me.

As before, please point out if you find a better solution for the flow of the lines or if you find a helpful tweak on the topology. I am still learning to model. Thanks!

I have at work the right fairing quite finished and I forgot to transfer the file home, so I started on another part, the undertail:

These are just some ideas. Maybe doing so may mess with the shape of the object. If the object looks ok with smooth on then leave the triangles. So far the modelling is good. I think the rear indicator glass should be a bit rounded.

Modeled the frame to give me more clues about the dimensions of the beast.

If I wasn't such a lazy bastard maybe this would have advanced a bit more. Updates will follow.

Modified the rear indicator lights glass to make them more rounded. Thanks wild_animesh!
Major modifications to the tail and its topology.

Modeled the seat, the stop lights and the tiny fabric that holds the f4 logo. This should do it for the tail at this time.

I think that ur body is probably too low poly, but maybe i'm mistaking...I just would love to see how u will end up this bike, with engine obviously =)

I modeled a Confederate Fighter P120 with every detail and it lasted me about one year! LOL

Said that, I just love this bike, And have to say good bye to Claudio Castiglioni, the man who saved last year the italian bike factory MV Agusta, cos he left us last week =( All italian bike lovers just hope that there will be someone good enough to save our two-wheels treasure.

Just keep on it! =) wait to see some other progresses! =)

Sorry, That was the first version of the fairing. You are right, it is way low in polys in that screenshot.
At the time of posting it was in v2 (what you saw is v1). Now it is in V3 as today I did another major modification to the fairings.
I also can't wait to finish the fairings as I like to do details more. What keeps me going is your replies and the thought that I can start on riding pegs, handlebar commands and so on

I didn't know Claudio recently passed out. I am certain he will be missed. This F4, for me, is a masterpiece that bears his name. Upon modeling it I continue to hear and feel "the music" he wanted to express with the shape of this model. It has never happened to me before.
    May he rest in peace.

later edit: Where is the confederate? I am now gazing upon the rsv. Fantastic job you did there!

    Thank you for your cheers.

Here is the fairing I did today. Again, tweaking can and will take forever. You have been warned.

Nice nice! So we have three italian bikes on WIP here on CG-Cars! =)

I think is really good now, but i've seen a probably pinchin problem here fairing_update copy.jpg, but maybe is just a bad angle of the view...can i have others? =) like from the bottom at 50 degres with a shiny material =)

ps. Have u ever heard one of those on the street? it sounds heavenly =Q but i'm still loving more my RSV4 XD

    Completed projects:
'70 Dodge Challenger TA , Confederate P120 Fighter

No, I haven't. There are a few where I live but I never heard one flying by. Unfortunately .

Thanks for pointing out the error. The vertices were quite crowded back there and I had to make them more planar.
    Attached is the revised fairing.

later edit: Here are the other views you asked for. The zoom levels differ. that is why the topmost is shorter.

Nice nice!...beware of a couple of small bumps....one is near the circular hole to fix the fairing to the bike..the other a bit up...anyway...where are u from? =D

Here i heard them twice on the street, but i had the luck to born near Monza circuit, so sometimes there are private bikers racing in here and i like to take a look when i have free time =) and BANG! There i saw some of the most beautiful bikes ever O.O Some f4 too, but not so much...i remind only one at the moment..most part of those bikes are usually japanese...less expensive bikes but really fun to ride!
