Well I think you can see from your own screen grabs that your mesh in places is a bit jagged. Try to make them flow rather than sharp edges.

I have also spotted some ngons....try to stick to a 4-sided polygon as best you can. I sometimes use NURBS curve to snap my vertices to, but you can use SPLINE too. It helps with figuring out complex curves, curves that run in all three dimensions at the same time. This way you get to see what the curve/spline does [if you make it renderable] rather than just guessing from your three views where to move your vertices by eye.

Well.... All your cars have a problem in my opinion. They look alright, i can see u made an effort in them, but they had to be bumpy really. Look at your edge spacing.... See how uneven it is? The edges should all be equally spaced. the most u can. Of course in some areas it is not possible, but in many areas it is. You should always be careful about edge spacing. And it s simple why. Because it s how the Catmull-Clark algorythm basically works (Subdivisions). It is based on half distances between vertices (baricenters of polygons). So it s a good idea to keep this in mind, because it s how your mesh is gonna be evaluated when u apply Meshsmooth. Try and i m sure you will notice an increase in "surface" quality. Hope this helps a bit.

Practice, and you ll get good stuff

I use it where I feel I need it, on an edge of your polies or for an edge in the middle of your polies. You can use a spline cage or just a loose spline here and there to figure out meshflows. When you turn on the right SNAPS, you can even snap your mesh to the spline / NURBS curve. I use it for my basic layout, but also sometimes when I am certain of two / three points, but not sure about those inbetween.

I'm also just a relative newbie to 3D Max modeling, so this is just how I cope with polymodeling.
