right on! thanx devil, for this delicious render!! like the HDR feel of the backplate, and what a realistic car! it will definitely be on my site!

but the chromatic aberration in the backplates scares me! but it will probably be because of the un-edited JPGs i used as backplates.

it reminds me to tell that my future packs will have .DNG backplates too...

Not sure that DNG is that great a format. Not very compatible with some applications, including Blender and Yafaray. But of course, that can be converted after downloading your packs.

Amazing renders and cars everybody... I´d like to learn how you guys did it.

I use Softimage 2011 and I´ve been looking for tutorials with no luck.

Can anyone tell me the whole concept of working with backplate. How do you set up the scene?

I don´t know if you just render the car and then merge the car and backplate in photoshop, for example and how do you get the car shadow casted on the backplate? Do you render everything in passes?

Sorry that´s a lot of newbie questions, I just need the concept so that I can do it in softimage or if you know how to do it in softimage, that´ll be great. Thank you for your patience.
