Thanks. I agree with you. The backplate's, actually, the HDRI, darkness comes from it low resolution. It is difficult to find some high resolution free HDRI. Do you know a website where i can find it?
Sergo... Don't forget about camera projector thing -- Perspective VS Orthographic.. I assume he had perspective on which lead you to think the geometry is off.
EquiNox, thanks and you're right. In this image that sergo posted here i chosen a more orthographic view to show the Y 0 of the car at the same time that some of the front and rear elements appears. This camera really distorted the proportions of the model causing the "geometry off effect".
Sergo, for a better esthetic I will review the angle and make another image. Thanks.
Don't want to argue but i know when the geometry is different due to wider lens angle and when it's not. Clearly here it's not the camera, check out the front door for starters, also i have compared front and rear renders, didn't post them though, because the one that i did post is sufficient imho. But it's totally your call if u like it the way you have it, so be it )
after looking at it closly, and on http://lima3d.blogspot.com/ at first i thought the geometry is wrong too, but looking much closer, i dont think it is.
I think in all the renders, cameras FOV has been altered and in few shots its making a race car look like a 4 wheel drive, doesnt look slick, looks bulky.
How ever very nice renders and very nice modelling. Never thought id say this but i think camera angles\fov could use some more work.
Sergo, there is no argue here, just a thread. When I joined this forum I knew that I would get differents opinions about my work. And this is good because the level of people here is very high.
In my blog I told that is my first car model in the first time I used a 3D software, and I chosen Alias. Although I working in automotive industry i have only one year and a half in 3D modeling and render area. So I'm here to learn from you guys that have a great work.
But is too hard match a render with a photo and wait that everything will fit on it. They are two different situations. OK. Thanks.
w0rx, thanks for the words man. Could you show me some angles/fov with a nice balance for a great result?

Sorry for the late reply. Been busy and working off my laptop while traveling sucks haha.
I havent searched much as no one as answered my question nor have i found a solution but i know there are some free HDRI images in the "Give away" section and if you use google (not telling you to use it but if thats what you are using) i would recommend in the search setting to search for larger tehn 12 megapixel images. Higher the quality of the backplate the better as you dont have to try and make the car lower quality to match. though i normally will do two renders. One of the car and the background and another of just the car and a plane color to mask out so i can distort the vehicle then blend in the blur to add the cruddy pixel that most low res photos have. Just small things.
In about an hour ill be leaving to go home and ill have better internet so i can search for HDRI images/websites that offer free ones.
Ill reply here once i find them.
