    Mercedes SLS AMG 2011

Right it seems odd that someone called 'darksnyder' is making the same car as me

Here is my progress, not so much done. Last 2 pics are paint tests which are kinda pooey. Wanted a more metallic look like the actual car, Vray.

The 1st image is where I am at now, with it rocking my ATS Classics, rendered in Scanline clay render.

So much fail with that stance. Car is low but look at the wheel gap

I don't think the wheels suit the car but I can't blame you for wanting to check it out

Silver looks really good but the red could be darker?

For some German cars, there aren't any rims more suitable than ATS Classics, you philistine! But agreed, they don't suit this SLR very well. Nice progress on the model, the car material already looks fairly correct.

yes. But the mentality of a person who owns a merc, which is usually businessman, a person who is neat, intelligent and successful is alot different to now day youth, this new generation, which is your steriotypical people who DO buy the jap rims just to impress their young mates and girls. They are the once that drive past young underage girls and rev their cars and feel like a gansta. Prestige \ Class doesnt NOT apply to them. Its embarressing.

can you show us some shots straight out of max ? Than we can say a bit more about the model itself Looks like an okay start, but on the clay i can spot some areas that could be bumpy. Keep it up and loose those rims man

I thought I would do a trial run of my Lupo's 13 Inch 175/50's on a car that comes with 19's as standard ha!

The paints were courtesy of your paint methodology which was so crazy helpful! And I will have the car finally either White or the Metallic Silver original colour.

Haha ATS are a German company. Google ATS Classics and majority of pictures are of Mk1 Golf slammed on them. Not seen one Jap motor with Classics. I have a VW Lupo IRL slammed on Classics. Respect for German cars ...

Yep just uploaded it now. Compared to Snyders, mine isnt as flowing

Did some test HDRi's with the new pack available and the new paints. Think the red came out ok, but I am not all that clued up on HDRi images yet.

Playing with random Lighting Setups within Vray at the moment and making a random Garage scene for the cars to go in.

Having issues with the lighter Vray Studio setups in which I do not understand the idea of Gradient Ramps and to use them effectively. As at the moment I am just using 1 VRay light either side of the car, one above facing above to bounce light (I assume), with the Reflections turned off as I have the harsh box lines, but I played with the 'Metallic' layer of my Blend materials and its given, what looks like a Matte jobby?
