Hey everyone, it's been a while. Unfortunately with the exams, there has been no time left to work on this, so the progress is almost nonexistant. However I did some work the last couple of days and thought I'd share. Right clip on is almost finished, left one next.
Oh and yes, I did it. I managed to fully model and detail a wrong piece. That triple clamp is actually aftermarket one; but this is what I get for modeling way past bed time.
Anyway, in an attempt to clear my mind of vertices for a bit, I tried mapping the exhaust. A question, in vray, what's the simplest way to keep the white of the termignioni sticker, strong/white? Looks very dull/flushed out compared to the refs.
I'll be including a side test render to show overall progress.
Oh and Dangeruss, thanks for the new link, was rather helpful.
By the way, why doesn't "Lock Zoom/Pan" seem to work for perspective view and cameras? Trying to set up the engine photos and while the same settings work for left and right views, perspective refuses to cooperate!
Some of yesterday's work on the clutch. I actually went ahead and modeled the inside too, so as to have the option for an open clutch in the end
Felt like bruteforcing this; I couldn't come up with a more elegant way to add unevenly spaced small circles to the big one, so I just went with many sides. Then I couldn't get rid of some triangles so I at least made sure they were on flat surfaces and away from edges. Wouldn't mind some suggestions on the wire.
Also slapped some mats on it; mostly to separate matIDs. Think I'll keep doing this from now on and reduce the workload in the end. It'd be just finetuning the existing materials then.
