Dear All,

Thanks for all the reply's; the quality of work on this forum is outstanding from the images we have been shown.
The current situation is that the client has re-instructed the scanning company to finish the model through other sources, as they are already so far down the line with the scan data and costs already incurred. It is, however, my strong recommendation to abandon the company who have done the scanning as they have messed the job up so much, but ultimately the final decision isn't ours.

A new deadline has been set for the 20th, and if this is missed, we will be wanting to arrange the production of a new model.

Many thanks to all who got in touch for your input and help, we hope to be in touch again soon.

re. automotive modelling

Hi sv_1,

We have been doing automotive modelling for over a year for a major manufacturer, producing print media for use across Europe.

We have had to work from scan data, and have much experince of good and poor data. Our first scan supplier was forced on us by the client and was very poor, but we subsequently took control ourselves and changed to a new supplier with whom we have built a very good working relationship whilst tuning the whole scanning process with them. I would thoroughly recommend them - although I would be very interested to know who you have been using first!

Do drop me a line if your project looks like it may get the go-ahead.

Cheers,

A
