The making of is very very great. But as much people modelling an R8, he has some model mistakes. The thing I am really interested in, is the kind how he made an 360° HDRI out of a simply rectangular image... I would like to know more about it and it hink, when I have more time again, I will try to produce a 360° image out of my simple background... And he used a very simple car paint - black. The ice-silver that this Audi has, is much more complicated due to the highlights on the metallic flakes, which produce these interesting "laminary reflections" on the paint - most people take in this case just a simple grey... But it's a very great work and I respect this guy, that he shares his experience in 3D with us!

Hey,
when you have your frame with the rendered image in it, you just click save and you choose a .tif file-ending and check "save alpha maps" or smthng. like that. Now open the image in PS and on the right side, where you see the tab "Layers" just click on "Channels" and now with a click on "alpha" you can view your alpha map. |
