Gaps between surfaces
I hope someone can help me with this problem. No matter what i try i always seem to get these gaps as in the picture.
I have tried different techniques like filleting the surfaces and the pipe, split and blend, but nothing seems to work. Cheers __________________

Hi
Yes..your gaps are very typical of tesselation issues.
U need to rebuild your surfaces definitly. Make more patchsurfaces of same surfaces. Ideally, and the correct way to model in nurbs, you want several surfaces, BUt with only 1 span. And all surfaces G2 continuous, of course ! You, see, no matter how u increase tesselation on those surfaces, they ll never match, cause they have different topology.......To fix that, they should have the same topology. Feel free to ask anything, I might be able to help ! I Use Autostudio too. Peace! |

Maybe best solution is to join them and explode, it ll sometimes fix that mismatched surface and cover the gaps. If it doesn't work then your surface need tor rebuild.
Also in Rhino menu... Tool -->Option-->Select Mesh on left panel. Select custom and set everything to 0 except for.... Maxiumum distance edge to surface to 0.01 or 0.001 whatever that suit you.. It will make mesh look real smooth without noticing gaps. Hope that helps |
