Alpine Concept
Just to see what you think about my concept Alpine
I'm not very gifted for using an 3D soft like Rhino in a good way, but i'm try ing to do my best i don't know how to use the render to illustrate my drawings, even the layers are some misterious tecnics for me so don't be mad with me Of course it's not finished, i'm not interested by making something of perfect like everybody here, i continue to draw in 3D like i do in 2D, I just want to see my 2D's idea in 3D (the truck isn't from me) Last edited by seth : 26-06-06 at 06:29 PM. |

the original sketch, the result in 3D is quite different from this.
obviously it's not very easy to make exactly the same when you use for the first time Rhino, and this with only one view even if i've obtained something of different, i like the second one (3D), but i think, that the original car will please more.. (?) For the size, this Alpine is a little smaller than a Gallardo, less higher Last edited by seth : 27-06-06 at 06:10 AM. |

thanks!
i know that it will make laugh the rhino's pro users, but i post some pics without render, my way of drawing; i draw all curves like in 2D, with the sketch which seems to be perfect, but only on one view, it'will be the same in a different view? Not sure...so when you create something, it's much more difficult than copy a real one with all the views which already exist! too many possibilities...You must choice the good one I love the Alpine V6 LeMans, and others A310, i ddn't want to make an A110 revival, but really a new car, nearest from a spider Renault ( at the last moment Renault has decided to use his proper brand to this one, but first, it was an Alpine project ).Like the spider my project refer to the Alpine A220 cevennes. |

hey seth, im a renault alpine fan myself. i'd love an A110. hard to find in the U.S.A. though. I can definitely see the renault spider influence, esp. the front. the only thing is i like your sketch a lot better than your 3D realization. i think your front is too low and heavy compared to your sketch. and your 3D model door is much more complicated than the sketch. the model has too much going on compared to the sketch. i also prefer the b-pillar shape in the sketch. the 3D version is a bit too round imo compared to the straighter look in your sketch. it would be cool if you could take a shot of your model in the same view as your sketch for comparison. i'm not a fan of solid rims, but i can let that go for now.

very glad to see a Alpine fan
I realize that everybody prefer the sketch , so i 've began to modify the 3D cars, but not enough...it was my first attempt in 3D so it was very hard for me to make a true copy, because i didn't know how ...and i hadn't in my head, all the lines, so...and as you can see on this pics of the very rare A220cevennes, my inspiration has evoluated to something more complicated/squarre perhaps less pretty/original, but more ..realistic Even if, i was succeed to make it, I was affraid that my sketch will not render good in every angle... especially the very( too) short front (and don't forget that today, security rules doesn't like theses kind of noses... ) By example: - the upper air intake ( sketch) didn't render enough well in a profil view. - the joint of the front wing with the door wasn't realistic, pretty on the sketch, but in fact impossible to make like this. This is why, i prefer to make my drawings , the more realistic that i can, no big wheels, because after it's not the same in reality but i'm agree with you, now, i can make an another car, more like the sketch; shorter, it's a more sexy car Last edited by seth : 27-06-06 at 06:37 PM. |

I ve re-draw my car to be nearest of the sketch.
I ve reduced the front and the back, move all the cabin a little more to the front of car, i remenber myself that i'had avoid to make this before ( even if the sketch was like that )because it was a little too much "cab forward style" for me, i wanted something more light... l:4m16 , L:1m93, H:1m12, E:2m56 and around 3m96 for the shorter The Gallardo: l:4m30, L:1m90, H:1m16, E:2m56 And i began to redraw the air intake for the both, but i must find some tuturials and study it...to progress, and of course some time to do it |

I really like the concept and great modeling. Just please put those cool rims that you draw on your 3D model.

a littlebbit too flashy but better than on a simple white back
what's exactly "cool rims"? you means the wheel? "rims" seems to have many signification in the 3D's World OK i'll try, but my 3d's wheels refer at a modern version of alpine's wheels This why in the french alpine forum, i use these kind of wheels to show my concept Last edited by seth : 01-07-06 at 08:28 AM. |
