3DS Max Car Tire Materials?

I have been having trouble trying to create realistic tire materials, ive tried changing the basic settings such as specular. I also tried adding a noise map and changing the settings in it, but i cant get a realistc material (like the car tire on the banner at the top of this page). Im using brazil renderer, and am please with car paint, but not tire renders. Another example is the awesome tire material in Shaddix's Car animation thread. Please share your settings and ideas for tire materials/textures for 3ds max

Thanks

sadly i am not workin with 3ds, but all i can say, its not that heavy, you only have to trim your gloss right (has to be real flat not too intensive) and if you want to do it in detail, you have to create a texture in e.g. photoshop.

hope it helps you a bit, perhaps there are some 3ds users around here, who know doin their work

Hi there,

Its kinda weird.. You regged and 1post is this a question.. Personnally i think its a bad start. We even dont know who you are. And making realistic materials is taking time and time .. ! Trial and error. I think you wont geta answer because its really hard.. Tire is a weird color, one wrong setting and your tire is wrong. I think you just gotta try and try. and dont give up on the first try!

Please take this as a advice. Because if you just take our settings. You wont learn why this setting will do this or that!

Greetz,
