    Retro Sportsconcept Take II

Hello everyone, it's been quite some time that I've been away. But I've followed the threads on this forum closely and from what I've seen the game has moved on.

I've been quite busy with work and it's sucked most of my inspiration out of me, but now I've decided it was time to do some work on my own again.

I want to do a remake of my previous Retro Sportsconcept (more here: Previous Concept), mostly because well.. I wasn't that good at modelling and had too little time to put into the details because of the contest. It's going to be a brand new car, everything done from the start and it's going to look quite different at the end.

I've started with the rims. Still has a lot to left on them, and then there's the ceramic brake disks and of course the tires which will be completely custom.

Hey guys, thanks for the support! Made a carbon brake disk, but I'm thinking about adding some ventilation holes in it to give it more detail. I need a caliper as well, but then the wheels are pretty much done. I'm modelling a logo that will be in the center of the wheel and on other parts as well, but that'll take some time, lots of details in it.

Anyhow, here's a wire and some details... Now I'll go and have a beer, it's friday for christ sake

Hey, hope you all had a great weekend, mine's been pretty good. But I've been out of the country so I've not been able to make any updates, so I faked it and made a render instead :P

Just added some quick materials to the rim to give you an idea of how it's going to look. The materials is not finished and some details will be tweaked and I need the caliper as well. I want to create a cusom brake caliper that looks like it's in production. I'll have to think about it and make some sketches. I'm a bit tired of the classic brembo brakes now.

Wow Dave, congrats on that one Guess you'll be driving endlessly for a couple of months then! Thanks for the feedback as well!

I have been checking out the new scirocco this weekend and I really like it, so we'll see what shows up in the driveway this autumn.

About the caliper I'm just a bit bored with it aas you said, there has to be a more graceful solution to it's appearance So that'll be next on my list!

I found these, and I quite like those. Anyone else know of any calipers that looks half decent? Just need some inspiration.

Good morning! I've just made the brake calipers, I wanted to make them as clean as possible, since a lot of them are quite fussy and that wouldn't suite the overall style of the car later on.

I'm thinking about adding more details to the inside of it, but I have more urgent issues at hand like the logo for the center of the wheel.

Let me know what you think!

    Hey!

P2sta: I have some sketches but they are not ready to be shared just yet since I'm working out the details. Pretty much done with the rim now, but I actually didn't bother to make another render, it hasn't changed that much.

I did a logo though, and I know the name is crap but it's kind of an internal joke, cause where I live in "Järntorget" in gothenburg... And if you translate that directly to English then you get well tadaa: Ironsquare.

Just had to name it and didn't want to go through a tiresome process. But if anyone comes up with a better name... heck probably any name is better I'll change it, I swear

Made a tirethread with the new logo as a base as well... think I need to work some more on it, but it's the base at least. Now I'm going off to celebrate the swedish "Midsummer" and won't be back until sunday.

    Have a great weekend!
