The wires on the wire wheels aren't straight. I thought wire wheels function by the tension in the wires, and an inevitable consequence would be that the wires get rather straight.

Unless, of course, those wires in your wheel are not actually wires.

looks really good. one thought about the break though: doesn't the caliper come awful close to the centre of the disk? i might be wrong but it looks weird...

Hey guys! Thanks for the replies! And sorry for not posting any updates. But at the moment it's 32 degrees celsius in my apartment and it makes it impossible to get any work done. But I'll get an air conditioner in this week and that'll help a lot!

Purple Puppy: well since it's a concept I'm "making" the "wires" out of carbon fiber. I have absolutely no clue if it would work, but I think it makes it look more flowing and will suit the cars lines better this way. and btw I found some wheels with bent wires so it might just work.

rodderworld: Yeah I know, I was a bit skeptical at first but it has the same space between caliper and disk as the caliper I posted earlier

Anyways, made the tire, still have to create the sidewall for it and I might go back and add more details when I get more done on the car.

Hey guys, thanks for the inspiring feedback! Sorry for the updates, or the fact that there's so many days between them, but I'm working on the redesign of the car. And trying to make the details just right.

zylak: Wow, thanks! Your work is truly inspiring as well, and I'm following your thread closely. Really like where you're going with it!

There's so many things that didn't look finished with the concept last time around, so I want to make it right this time.

Anyways, very small update... it's a sidewall, nothing much 'cause I wanted to keep it clean. No bump, all done in splines. I'll will post some design ideas for the concept soon. Please have some patience

it's a bit hard to see the sidewall in a screencap due to lighting but the tire overall looks good. i think it might be better with a few more tread segments though.

    regards,

Thanks folks! I'm not going to render it with materials until the car is finished. I'm just focusing on modeling at the moment.

Started creating the side rear view mirror now. It's part glass, part brushed aluminium, and part paint, with a touch of neon lights in it. Going to be working a lot with the lightning of the car this time, it's so important to get that concept look of it. I must admit I got some inspiration off the Volvo S60 Concept, but with a sporty new touch. Hope you like it. The white neons are "walking-home-lights"

Now I just have to build the back part and the actual mirror :P
