I've done some cleaning up in this area you see here, I'll keep working on it!!! :-)

first image still messy, second (a bit) cleaner, I hope you like it better this way! :-)

Wire in second image seems better, but it is much interesting to see unsmoothed wires.

I think that better is to create whole body and then start to chamfering edges and tweaking smoothed mesh - from my experience tweaking chamfered edges is a nightmare and soon your mesh starts to look a little rippled (mine at least :P )
